The Arts
The Sunrise Coast offers visitors a wealth of Art Galleries with exhibitions from local, national and international artists & crafts people, including exhibitions of painting, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, photography, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and furniture. These exhibitions are held within many premier venues that can be found on The Sunrise Coast. Newly opened in Lowestoft is The Warehouse Arts Collective, a new gallery that offers unique exhibitions to the public.
Amongst the wide variety of galleries, the Heritage Workshop Centre in Wilde Score, Lowestoft tells the history of the town and the local people.
Whilst exploring The Sunrise Coast, look out for the many art and craft shops selling local and handmade art and craft, every art enthusiast will find something that they will desire.
Public ArtThere are many fine examples of public art in the district. One of the
most popular being the Maritime Art Trail, which takes you on of a journey
of many fine examples of public art that captures Lowestoft's heritage.
Some of the public art located throughout the Lowestoft Scores includes
'invasion of crabs', 'fishing boat' and 'shoal of herring'. Located on
both the South Pier and Claremont Pier are 'St Elmo's Fire', lights that
are visible from The Esplanade which symbolise the masts of sailing ships.
