The Sunrise Coast is an ideal location for walking enthusiasts and with that in mind a number of walking trails around the district have been created. A diverse mix is offered, ranging from long distance walks such as the Angles Way and the Suffolk Coastal Path to much shorter routes such as the Bigod Way in Bungay and the Marsh Trail in Beccles. Publications on walks and trails for The Sunrise Coast are available to purchase from the Tourist Information Centre at Lowestoft. (Contact: 01502 533600)


The Lowestoft Porcelain Trail
The trail encompasses original industrial sites, which stand as witnesses to the story of china manufacture in the town with details added from local historical research.

The Maritime Art Trail
This trail has been recently designed to link in the various artworks that celebrate Lowestoft's History and Heritage.

The Angles Way
A route from the Norfolk Broads to the Suffolk Brecks, linking in with Peddars Way, Ickneild Way and Iceni Way.

Around and About Waveney
A 7-mile circular walk encompassing Somerleyton, Ashby, Lound and Blundeston.

The Bungay Real Ale Trail
This trail encompasses the last 9 surviving (from an original of 33) drinking places, providing a taste of local history.

The Bungay Town Trail
Explores historic buildings and places of interest in Bungay's ancient town centre. The routes are ideal for visitors to the town and offer a unique chance to explore the 'Old World charm' that is unique to Bungay.

The Halesworth Town Trail
From its Mesolithic origins, Saxon settlements right through to the present day, the town of Halesworth has a rich history to tell. This trail works hand in hand with way markers situated around the town.
