Food and drink
As diverse as our landscape, The Sunrise Coast’s food and drink offering is second to none and offers something for everyone.
The area is blessed with a broad range of quality local produce from Smoked Fish from Lowestoft Smokehouse, Suffolk Ham from rare-breed Suffolk Pigs, hand-picked asparagus, Suffolk cheese, honey, jams, local strawberries and handmade chocolates.
Look out for the Suffolk Breakfast and Tastes of Anglia Logos at participating establishments, which promote the use of locally sourced ingredients.
The Sunrise Coast offers a wide selection of quality eateries, which will satisfy the taste buds of visitors. From continental, modern British and more traditional cuisine, there is a wide choice to suit all tastes. Our close proximity to the sea provides excellent traditional fish and chips and many restaurants have daily fish specials.
Locally produced drink is also a speciality – why not enjoy a pint of locally brewed ale from the world famous Adnams of Southwold or St Peter’s Brewery near Bungay. For wine enthusiasts, a visit to Wissett Wines at Valley Farm Vineyards for a tour around the vineyards or a spot of wine tasting is a must. Also on offer is a chance to sample and purchase local, traditionally produced apple juices and cider at the Suffolk Apple Juice and Cider Place at Ilketshall St. Lawrence.
The Suffolk Real Ale Shop in Wrentham, provides visitors the chance to purchase a wide variety of local ales on the farm where the barley sourced.
The Sunrise Coast also hosts a number of local farmers markets and local food and drink festivals, which are held throughout the year.
