As the southern gateway to The Broads, Oulton Broad provides the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy one of the regions highlights.

Water sport lovers will be impressed by the variety of choice on offer including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and rowing. The water sports centre also provides the chance to try these activities under the supervision of trained instructors. However, for a more sedate activity then simply relax by the waters edge watching the sailing or step on board one of the river excursions running out into The Broads.

Nicholas Everitt Park provides one of the most spectacular views over the broad, where visitors can sit back and relax to the sound of a Sunday afternoon brass band concert during the summer, enjoy the thrills of Thursday night powerboat racing or simply enjoy time with friends and family feeding the ducks.

Deep into the park you will be able to explore the Lowestoft Museum at Broad House, which presents 1000 years of local history, including the a collection of the famous Lowestoft Porcelain.

With more than 100 acres of grazing marsh and fen, Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve creates a haven for many different species of wildlife, plants and insects, making it an ideal location for nature lovers and walkers.

Those looking for something to eat or drink will enjoy the large selection of restaurants and bars on offer, from AA Rosette restaurants to modern wine bars.

Oulton Broad is easily accessible by public transport with two railway stations connecting to London and with regular services connecting to Lowestoft, Norwich and Ipswich, providing an ideal opportunity to leave the car at home.
