The Sunrise Coast has a wonderful choice of parks, gardens and open spaces, providing both leisure and recreational facilities for everyone to enjoy.

From traditional formal gardens to wet marshland and heaths, The Sunrise Coast has a diversity second to none.

Visit Henstead Exotic Garden- an acre full of banana trees, palms, tree ferns and streams, all in an excellent south facing microclimate.

Somerleyton boasts its celebrated estate gardens, containing walled, sunken and vegetable gardens, divided into 2 main section- formal and arboreal. The 1846 yew hedge maze is bound to be a hit, as both young and not so young take on the challenge of navigating their way safely through it!

The Lowestoft seafront gardens, along with Sparrows Nest provide plenty of opportunities for leisure and relaxation, with a programme of events through the year to add to your enjoyment.

Kensington Gardens is situated adjacent to Lowestoft's award winning south beach and is in close proximity to a range of cafes restaurants, hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation. The gardens incorporate landscaped gardens, a small boating lake and a Chinese garden and pond, along with bowling greens, tennis courts and and cafe.

Away from the seafront, Normanston Park is a large open space ideal for walking and relaxing. Slightly further inland you will find Nicholas Everitt Park, in an idyllic setting on the edge of the broads. Whether you fancy a browse around the museum in the park, watching the boats on the Broad or a visit to the animals in Pets Corner, you will find something to enjoy here.

Tucked away beside an expanse of water, Kirkley Park Fen is a hidden green space providing informal recreation in the south of Lowestoft. The pond itself offers huge benefit to wildlife with its large islands and a number of seats allow visitors to sit and enjoy the views across the water.
